Op 19 januari 2024 vindt de jaarlijkse NACV-dag plaats in Nijmegen. De organisatie is in handen van de Radboud Universiteit en de Hogeschool Arnhem Nijmegen. Op de NACV-dag komen collega’s van Nederlandse en Vlaamse hogescholen en universiteiten bij elkaar om kennis en ervaringen uit te wisselen over (onderwijs in) academische communicatieve vaardigheden. Het thema voor de dag is dit jaar: “Anybody out there? Hebben we contact?”
Digitale platforms en AI-toepassingen zorgen voor ongekende nieuwe mogelijkheden in het onderwijs. Zo is onderwijs niet langer gebonden aan
tijd en plaats, en kunnen studenten instructies en leermateriaal op maat krijgen. Dat is mooi, maar wat zijn hiervan de gevolgen voor het persoonlijk contact tussen docenten en studenten en studenten onderling? Voelen studenten zich voldoende gezien en gehoord? En, hoe hou je als docent goed zicht op de ontwikkeling van je studenten?
Tijdens de NACV-dag zullen we uitgebreid stilstaan bij de mogelijkheden en uitdagingen van de digitalisering van het onderwijs. De centrale vraag wordt: Hoe kunnen we het academische vaardighedenonderwijs op een effectieve en stimulerende manier vormgeven, rekening houdend met nieuwe digitale mogelijkheden en uitdagingen? We willen daarbij zowel de voordelen van digitale leermiddelen en blended learning verkennen als ingaan op de
cruciale rol van persoonlijk contact en interactie in het ontwikkelproces van studenten.
We onderscheiden de volgende subthema’s:
Innovatieve digitale tools voor academische vaardighedenonderwijs
Blended learning: hoe bereik je een goede mix tussen online en persoonlijk contact?
Student-docent interactie: het belang van persoonlijk contact voor het bevorderen van academische communicatieve vaardigheden
Interactie tussen studenten: samenwerkings- en communicatievaardigheden, peer ondersteuning, groepswerk (en hoe borg je daarbij de individuele ontwikkeling van studenten?)
Toetsing en feedback in een gedigitaliseerd onderwijssysteem: hoe bewaar je het evenwicht tussen efficiëntie en persoonlijke begeleiding?
We nodigen je van harte uit om een abstract in te dienen.
Hoe ziet je abstract eruit?
Je abstract bevat maximaal 300 woorden. Beschrijf in ieder geval het onderwerp, het doel van je bijdrage en voor wie je bijdrage interessant kan zijn.
Je kunt een voorkeur aangeven voor een van de volgende vormen:
Lezing (30 min.): 20 min. presentatie + 10 min. Q&A
Workshop (60 min.): interactieve sessie rond een thema waar je zelf al heel wat expertise in hebt (NB: in het programma is beperkt ruimte voor workshops)
Casus met discussie (30 min.): je krijgt 10 min. om je casus voor te stellen: je schetst het probleem, vertelt wat je tot nu toe al doet, waar je tegenaan loopt of wat je graag wil bespreken met de groep. Daarna volgt een discussie van 20 min. met de deelnemers.
Pitch je project: stel je project in 5 min. voor. Daarna is er ruimte om met de andere deelnemers te overleggen en feedback te geven/krijgen. Er zijn 2 à 3 pitches per sessie. De totale sessie duurt 30 minuten.
Geef bij een workshop aan hoe de interactieve component vorm zal krijgen. Kies je voor een casus met discussie, beschrijf dan hoe je de discussie wil vormgeven.
Procedure
We ontvangen je abstract graag uiterlijk 15 november 2023. Je kunt daarvoor het volgende formulier gebruiken. Eind november laten wij je weten of je abstract wordt geaccepteerd. In december ontvang je de officiële uitnodiging voor de NACV-dag 2024 met het programma en informatie over de inschrijving.

On 19 January 2024, the annual NACV Day will take place in Nijmegen and will be organized by Radboud University and Hogeschool Arnhem Nijmegen. The NACV Day brings together colleagues from Dutch and Flemish universities to share knowledge and experiences on (teaching) academic communication skills. This year’s theme is “Anybody out there? Hebben we contact?”
Digital platforms and AI applications create unprecedented new possibilities in education. Education is no longer tied to time and place, and students can
receive customized instruction and learning materials. That is great, but how
does it affect teacher-student contacts and contacts between students? How well do students feel they are seen and heard? And how do you monitor your students’ progress as a teacher?
During the NACV day, we will reflect on the opportunities and challenges of digitization. The central question will be: How can we design academic skills education in an effective and stimulating way, taking into account new digital opportunities and challenges? In doing so, we want to explore both the advantages of digital learning tools and blended learning as well as address the crucial role of personal contact and interaction in the development process of students.
We distinguish the following sub-themes:
Innovative digital tools for academic skills education.
Blended learning: how to achieve a good mix between online and face-to-face?
Student-teacher interaction: the importance of personal contact in promoting academic communication skills
Interaction between students: collaboration and communication skills, peer support, group work (and how do you secure individual student development in the process?)
Assessment and feedback in a digitized education system: how do you maintain the balance between efficiency and personalized support?
We cordially invite you to submit an abstract.
Criteria for your abstract
Your abstract contains a maximum of 300 words. Describe at least the topic, the purpose of your contribution and for whom your contribution may be of interest.
You can indicate a preference for one of the following formats:
Lecture (30 min.) 20 min. presentation + 10 min. Q&A
Workshop (60 min.): interactive session on a topic of your expertise (Note that there is limited space in the program for workshops)
Case study with discussion (30 min.): you get 10 min. to present your case: you outline the problem, tell the audience what you have done so far, what your challenges are or what you would like to discuss with the group. This is followed by a 20 min discussion with the participants.
Pitch your project: present your project in 5 min. After that, there is room to discuss with the other participants and give/get feedback. There are 2-3 pitches per session. The total session lasts 30 min.
For a workshop, please indicate how the interactive component will take shape. If you choose a case study with discussion, please describe how you plan to shape the discussion.
Procedure
We would like to receive your abstract no later than 15 November 2023. You can use the this form to do so. We will let you know at the end of November whether your abstract is accepted. In December, you will receive the official invitation to the 2024 NACV Day with the program and registration information.
